If a man has a hundred sheep, and ONE of them has gone astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountains and go in search of the one that went astray? And if he finds it, truly, I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that never went astray. So it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.
Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 18:10-14, and vs 4
The first time I visited Uganda, I saw the masses. The city center was filled with people, huddled, walking, crowded together on one motorcycle, trucks and buses filled with people…and chickens and goats and bags of charcoal…. The sights, sounds and smells were all overwhelming.
Now when I visit, I think about “the one”. One small child who I can smile with. Seeing Richard’s bright eyes. Hugging Nasiba and Olivia. Having tea with very special people who I have grown to love and enjoy and highly respect.
Thanks for joining me in prayer.
Today, I encourage you to pray for “the one”.
Choose one name, perhaps a sponsored child of yours or a child who is yet to be sponsored.
Pray for a child who is seeking direction for their vocation. Pray for a little one who needs to know the love of a father or mother.
Perhaps you don’t know anyone by name, but you can pray for the cook or head teacher. Pray for a Ugandan Pastor (Alex, Patrick, Sam, Isaac) or Leader (Dave, Margaret, Racheal, Eva, Raphael, Prossy, Cate, Peruth) or a board member.
Pray for God to Bless this special one with peace, hope, healing and abundance. He knows them all by name.
